For the past ten-plus years, Alkan has been steadily churning out dancefloor bangers, remixing the likes of Justice, Interpol, Mylo, Bloc Party, The Chemical Brothers, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Klaxons, Franz Ferdinand, et al, and playing festivals around the globe. Named Mixmag’s “DJ of the Year” in 2006, Alkan has recently begun releasing his first original singles, including his collab with Boys Noize (mp3 below).

M.A.N.D.Y.

German production duo Patrick Bodmer & Philipp Jung, together known by the curiously effeminate label M.A.N.D.Y., gained fame in 2005 with their club hit “Body Language,” a collaboration with Booka Shade, with whom they also partnered in launching the Get Physical record label.

Tomorrow night M.A.N.D.Y. visits SF, headlining a show at Paradise Lounge. Opening will be Nikola Baytala, John Wander and Kuze. Advance tix are $12 and available over at Blasthaus.

The xx

Oh hey, have you heard of these guys??

Okay well…. a couple new remixes have come out of late that you can add to your collection and they’re not bad. The first is a disco edit from Grand Theft — one half of Canada’s bottle service duo Team Canada. Second is a simple edit of the melancholic “Stars” by Skinny Friedman of The Philadelphyinz.

Who says dancing and crying can’t coexist?

The xx – Crystallised (Grand Theft remix)

The xx – Stars (Skinny Friedman edit)

– White Mike

Jack Beats SF Debut w/ Sticky K, Nisus, Sleepyhead and more!

Hacksaw Entertainment and Rich DDT are joining up to bring the UK’s own JACK BEATS to San Francisco for the first time ever, along with San Francisco’s own STICKY K! Jack Beats are veteran producers Plus One and Beni G, and chances are you have already had your guts flung out by their remix of TC & Caspa’s whomping dancefloor smasher “Where’s My Money.” Sticky K is newly signed to Dubsided, along side producers such as Switch, Herve, Sinden and Nadastrom.

After two months in Europe, theProject’s own DJ NISUS will be spinning some brand new electro fidget bangers mixed with dangerously dirty French disco and lazer chainsaw hysteria. Also DJing will be SLEEPYHEAD [Frite Nite/SexyTime], ATIMATIK [Opulent Temple], INFLUENCE vs PIRATA [Strategik], TEK FREAKS [Cosmic Selector + Jeff Taisch of Opulent Temple], RICH DDT [LoveTech/Nexus/Dodocalypse]  and of course the infamous BOGL + DIALS [Facemelt/Soundpieces/Symbiosis].

Live VJ performance by CSTNG SHDWS  will be projected onto a giant weather balloon! Rich DDT’s TIME MACHINE will be transporting beats from the future all night long. With both floors open, a brand new soundsystem and a totally redone DJ booth, Paradise Lounge will be bumping solid from 9:30PM to 3AM.

And if that just isn’t enough, stick around for the Party Bus, shuttling party eager players to a SECRET UNDERGROUND AFTERPARTY (email partytilldawn@rocketship.com for info.)

It’s all happening this Friday!

Jack Beats & Sticky K @ Paradise Lounge
