Disco Vs Dubstep: Music Moving Forward

After more than a year of electronic music confusion, with electro going out, controllerism coming in and big room bass taking over, Hacksaw Entertainment has taken the first step toward the next big movement. Finally, electronic music in San Francisco has found a groove amidst the choas of genre confusion, dying blogs, and the sub-optimal economy.

Hacksaw Entertainment’s new weekly, Disco VS Dubstep, focuses on uniting the scene and bringing in all the best Disco and Dubstep DJs. There will be two rooms bumping beats from amazing producers. Bringing in DJs like B. Bravo, Salve, White Girl Lust, Vin Sol, Derrick Love, Kush Arora, Lexxus, Sam Supa, Sergio and more!

Get ready for Bass, get ready for Breaks, get ready for Disco!!! The best news is, its 18 plus! So bring your barely legal girlfriend, her little sister and their babysitter because this party is going to put San Francisco back on the map!

It all starts tonight, Wednesday August 26th at Poleng! Visit www.hacksawent.com for more info. And check out the video flier we made:

Nisus Featured on SF Weekly’s AllShookDown

In light of his recent triumphant return to San Francisco after a 1300 mile ride through Europe (CD’s in tow and DJing along the way) theProjects resident DJ Nisus has been featured in the SF Weekly blog AllShookDown. Nisus discusses his cross-continental DJing adventure, SF’s unnecceasry crackdown on parties, as well as his ultimate club night entailing “monster truck spitting flames…Mr. Oizo…and a helicopter engine sound system.”

Jack Beats SF Debut w/ Sticky K, Nisus, Sleepyhead and more!

Hacksaw Entertainment and Rich DDT are joining up to bring the UK’s own JACK BEATS to San Francisco for the first time ever, along with San Francisco’s own STICKY K! Jack Beats are veteran producers Plus One and Beni G, and chances are you have already had your guts flung out by their remix of TC & Caspa’s whomping dancefloor smasher “Where’s My Money.” Sticky K is newly signed to Dubsided, along side producers such as Switch, Herve, Sinden and Nadastrom.

After two months in Europe, theProject’s own DJ NISUS will be spinning some brand new electro fidget bangers mixed with dangerously dirty French disco and lazer chainsaw hysteria. Also DJing will be SLEEPYHEAD [Frite Nite/SexyTime], ATIMATIK [Opulent Temple], INFLUENCE vs PIRATA [Strategik], TEK FREAKS [Cosmic Selector + Jeff Taisch of Opulent Temple], RICH DDT [LoveTech/Nexus/Dodocalypse]  and of course the infamous BOGL + DIALS [Facemelt/Soundpieces/Symbiosis].

Live VJ performance by CSTNG SHDWS  will be projected onto a giant weather balloon! Rich DDT’s TIME MACHINE will be transporting beats from the future all night long. With both floors open, a brand new soundsystem and a totally redone DJ booth, Paradise Lounge will be bumping solid from 9:30PM to 3AM.

And if that just isn’t enough, stick around for the Party Bus, shuttling party eager players to a SECRET UNDERGROUND AFTERPARTY (email partytilldawn@rocketship.com for info.)

It’s all happening this Friday!
